Set of 5 handmade paper cards, embedded with flowers. Paper is made by co-op members in our North Philadelphia storefront from discarded books, office paper, and shredded criminal records.
Each card comes with an envelope made from 100% recycled materials.
The Whole Foods on South Street in Philadelphia donates their "floral shrink" — flowers deemed slightly too wilted, and that would otherwise go to a landfill— to the People's Paper Co-op every Monday. We use roses, jonquils, sunflowers, carnations, and many other flowers in our unique paper.
The People's Paper Co-op is a social justice and entrepreneurial project that brings individuals with criminal records together to run a craft-based business. All of our products were designed and handmade by our co-op members. All profits go directly into the co-op to expand our co-op membership and help our members be the amazing artists, activists, educators and neighbors they want to be. Each product comes with a story, poem, or statement written by an individual in the co-op. More information on the project can be found at : www.peoplespaperco-op.com
